World Peace Prayer

Dear God, Remind me that peace on earth begins with me. It starts with peace in my own heart. It grows as I make peace and heal wounds in my immediate family. It spreads as I go about my daily business and deal with everyone in a peaceful way... --the guy behind me on the road who wants to go faster than I'm going: I move over kindly and let him pass...As I begin my work and business dealings, I spread peace even to my competitors who may have been reprehensible in the past. No matter. Peace spreads through example. I behave always with the goal of peaceful resolution in my heart. I protect peace. I don't allow others to hurt me or my loved ones, or any of your people. I protect those put in my path, or under my care, who are being hurt by non-peaceful people. When I disallow non-peaceful behavior I do so with the certainty that I am protecting the peace of the victims, and therefore restoring peace in the world. But I pray for non-peaceful people. And by my example even non-peaceful people learn how to live with peace in their hearts, too. Dear God, Remind us that peace in the world begins at home. Give us the courage to do what is necessary to protect the people in our own little lives from the harm of non-peaceful people. And give us peace in our hearts so we can see clearly how we can help to restore peace, maintain peace, and set an example of peace... person by person, family by family, community by community.
